Job Description

Overview MAJOR FUNCTION: Administers various accounts in the Trust Department which include trusts, investment accounts, and estates. Administers accounts that the financial institution acts as trustee, custodian, agent, or personal representative for. RESPONSIBILITIES Administer trusts by following the duties as outlined in the trust agreement and in accordance with laws, rules, and regulations. Administer investment accounts, which includes providing investment advice for accounts we manage and making investment trades as directed for accounts the client manages that we act as custodian for, primarily consisting of mutual funds, stocks, and CDs. Make investment decisions for clients using tools and guidance from the Trust Department Manager and the Trust Department Investment Committee. Work with local attorneys to administer estates the bank is Personal Representative for in accordance with the duties outlined in the Last Will & Testament and in accordance with laws, rules, and regulations. Work with CPA firms to get tax returns prepared for trusts. Depending on qualifications duties may include managing farm property and/or mineral interests in western North Dakota and eastern Montana. Depending on qualifications duties may include managing foundations and administering them in accordance with the foundation’s guidelines, which may award scholarships to college students, grants to area projects, and help families with hardships. Depending on qualifications duties may include administration of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) including meeting with clients and processing contributions and distributions. Depending on qualifications duties may include administration of retirement plans, including Profit Sharing Plans, 401k Plans, and Simple IRA plans. Participate in business development to foster growth of new and existing relationships. Retention, development, and growth of existing trust accounts. Participate in Officer Call Program and complete reports on calls as required. Develop rapport with local attorneys, CPAs, and other financial professionals. Administer conservatorships for minors or for those the court deems as unable to manage their finances in accordance with the direction from the court and in accordance with laws, rules, and regulations. Completes reports to the Court if necessary. Perform all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor\'s degree in finance, business, or related field. Two years or more experience with banking, trusts, estates, investing, or retirement plans would be a plus. Good communication and analytical skills. Farm, ranch or mineral management experience would be a plus. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Confidentiality and tactfulness in dealing with bank and customer information is mandatory. Ability to conduct relationships with co-workers, customers, the community and the overall public in a manner which will enhance the bank\'s image and comprehensive marketing effort. Will be called upon from time to time to participate with community organizations and projects.
